Giving USA 2024: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2023, whose research is compiled by the Indiana University Lily Family School of Philanthropy, provides detailed insights into the sources of charitable giving and how that giving was allocated across charitable organizations. Giving USA has been tracking and reporting comprehensive charitable giving data for more than 65 years, providing unique, longitudinal insights into philanthropic giving in America.

Among the insights in the 2024 report, while overall giving reached more than $557 billion, it declined 2.1% when adjusted for inflation. Giving by individuals declined by 2.4% when adjusted for inflation, but giving by foundations showed continued growth, likely driven by the increasing number of Donor Advised Funds.
